The eligibility requirements reflect the Licensure, Accreditation, Certification and Education (LACE) requirements of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (https://www.ncsbn.org/index.htm). Candidates must meet the following requirements to be eligible to take the ABCC certification examination.
All of the following documentation is required:
- Meets current licensure, or eligibility for licensure, as a Nurse Practitioner as described by state practice laws and regulations, and
- Verification of successful completion of a DNP program from a school of nursing accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), and
- Be prepared as a Nurse Practitioner to provide care across the life span.
Previously certified DCCs will be grandfathered as long as they maintain their active certification.
